  1. Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions
  2. Review work orders
  3. Test automotive systems and components
  4. Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems
  5. Repair or replace mechanical units or components
  6. Perform scheduled maintenance service
  7. Test and adjust units to specifications
  8. Advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements
  9. Complete reports to record problems and work performed
  10. Perform diagnostic tests
  11. Fit and weld parts together
  12. Ensure health and safety regulations are followed
  13. Change engine oil and lubricate moving parts of automobiles, trucks or heavy equipment
  14. Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
