Part-Time Caretaker II - Elizabeth Barrett School

RVS is seeking applications for a continuing, part-time (20 hrs/week) Caretaker II to provide routine cleaning duties at Elizabeth Barrett School starting immediately. The position is Monday to Friday with day shift availability and may require work at multiple sites as assigned. Under the supervision of the Head Building Operator (HBO), the Caretaker II maintains buildings, grounds, contents and furnishings in a clean, tidy and sanitary condition and supports the HBO as directed.

Elizabeth Barrett Elementary School is located in Cochrane and serves students from kindergarten to grade 4, including French Immersion students from kindergarten to grade 4. For more information, visit the school website.

• Attention to detail related to varied and complex cleaning tasks
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Demonstrated pride in workmanship
• Performs building security checks as scheduled by the Head Building Operator
• Keeps assigned sidewalks, steps and entrances free from ice and snow
• Complies with Occupational Health & Safety, WHMIS and other relevant legislation

• Previous cleaning experience is an asset
• Certifications from cleaning organization are an asset
• Previous experience within a school division is an asset
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

• Working knowledge of proper cleaning procedures
• Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently with minimal supervision
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and web-based applications
