Position Summary
The Princess Margaret Cancer Centre is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented
Administrative Assistant I to support three leading-edge clinical research programs: the
Drug Development Phase I Program Finance Team, the
Cancer Genomics Program, and the
Tumor Immunotherapy Program.
Reporting directly to the Clinical Research Manager, the Administrative Assistant will provide essential day-to-day administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of clinical research activities.
Duties
- Provide administrative support for payroll submission and timesheet tracking
- Validate and process invoices, including invoicing to study Sponsors
- Track and manage incoming payments
- Coordinate onboarding processes for new team members
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date staff documentation and records
- Facilitate document approvals and obtain necessary signatures
- Organize team meetings, calendar invites, and research events
- Support general administrative tasks and ad hoc requests as required
Qualifications
- Completion of Grade XII (12) or recognized equivalent
- Post-secondary education in business administration, health sciences, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of 1–2 years of relevant administrative experience, preferably in a healthcare or research setting
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail
- Database and spreadsheet software experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion
- Familiarity with clinical research or hospital operations is an asset
