Head of Investments

A leading mid-market private equity fund with an office in Abu Dhabi is seeking a dynamic and strategic Head of Investments to lead the firm’s investment activities across the MENA region and beyond. This individual will play a central role in shaping the fund's investment thesis, originating and executing direct investments, and driving long-term portfolio value creation across a diverse range of sectors.

Key Responsibilities :

• Define and continuously refine the fund’s investment strategy across sectors and geographies.
• Identify thematic opportunities and white spaces for value creation in fragmented or high-growth sectors.
• Lead deal origination efforts through networks, advisors, direct sourcing, and strategic partnerships.
• Develop and maintain relationships with business owners, advisors, investment banks, and industry experts.

Deal Execution

• Oversee all stages of the deal lifecycle : screening, due diligence, structuring, negotiations, and closing.
• Lead valuation modelling, risk analysis, and investment committee materials.
• Serve as a trusted leader on investment committees, ensuring rigorous review and strong alignment with fund objectives.
• Act as a strategic partner to portfolio companies, supporting value creation initiatives, operational improvement, and growth planning.
• Collaborate with portfolio management teams and boards to monitor performance and ensure strategic execution.
• Drive exit readiness and lead exit processes, including trade sales, secondary deals, or IPOs.
• Build, manage, and mentor a high-performing investment team.
• Create a culture of ownership, analytical excellence, and proactive sourcing.
• Partner closely with internal functions such as finance, legal, and investor relations.

Stakeholder Management

• Support capital raising efforts by providing investment insights and representing the firm in LP discussions.
• Collaborate with the firm’s leadership team to shape fund performance, reporting, and strategic direction.

Candidate Profile :

• 12+ years of experience in private equity, investment banking, principal investing, or strategy consulting, with a clear track record in deal execution and portfolio management.
• Strong exposure to mid-market transactions, ideally with experience across different sectors and geographies.
• Demonstrated leadership in managing investments end-to-end and influencing at board level.
• Commercially astute, intellectually curious, and able to operate with high levels of autonomy and responsibility.
• Deep networks in the MENA region and / or emerging markets is highly advantageous.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and strategic thinking skills.
• MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
