A leading bank in the UAE is seeking a seasoned Data Architect with over 10 years of experience in Data Architecture, Dimensional Modeling, and Databricks. The successful candidate will work with Lakehouse architectures and have a strong understanding of the banking domain. - Manage Unity Catalog schemas, tables, access controls, and lineage.
- Implement lineage tools and build transparency pipelines.

- Expert in Dimensional Modeling – fact/dimension design, conformed dimensions, late-arriving facts
- Expert in building Gold layers in Lakehouse architectures
- Understands business domain granularity – e.g., Account, Customer, Product, Transaction, Channel, Campaign, etc.
- Experience with Databricks & Unity Catalog
- Unity Catalog admin-level experience: managing schemas, tables, access controls, and lineage; tagging and auditing assets
- Proficient in Delta Lake, DBSQL, and Spark optimization
- Knowledge of Lakehouse gold-tier architecture performance tuning: z-ordering, caching, file sizes, partitioning
- Experience with Metadata & Data Governance: locking data definitions, enforcing semantic consistency, building a data dictionary and business glossary, and working with data governance councils or stewards
- Ability to implement or integrate lineage tools (Unity Catalog native, or third-party like Collibra/Atlan)
- Building transparency pipelines that map gold back to source
- Hands-On Build & Optimization: writing performance SQL in Databricks SQL, productionizing Gold tables, batch orchestration, validation, rollback strategies
- Banking Domain Experience (strongly preferred)
Familiarity with:
- Customer lifecycle metrics and KPIs
- Understanding business units like Products, Distribution & Sales, Portfolio, Marketing, Digital, etc.
Required Experience and Skills:
- 10+ years of work experience in Data Architecture, Data Modeling, or Data Engineering
