Role & Responsibilities
  • Electrical distribution design for mining, data centres, water treatment and battery storage plants
  • Earthing and lightning protection studies and design
  • Motor starting and protection design.
  • Preparation of the technical content of enquiry documentation typically including a scope description, technical specification, drawings, datasheets and Bills of Quantity (BOQ)
  • Performs complex engineering, design, calculations, analysis and review of design documents when required
  • Audits, inspections, factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing
  • On site quality inspections and commissioning activities as required
Minimum Requirements
  • 10 - 15 years’ suitable experience on industrial and/or renewable electrical applications, with electrical/mechatronic tertiary qualification
  • Professional registration with ECSA
  • Experience in design and construction supervision of
    • LV Switchgear and LV plant reticulation
    • MV switchgear, protection and MV plant reticulation
    • LV and MV motor starting
    • Earthing and lightning protection
    • Harmonics and power quality
    • Diesel generators and/or SSEG experience advantageous
  • Experience with ETAP and/or DigSilent is preferable
  • A team player that is willing to collaborate across multiple disciplines or design teams
  • Commitment in resolution of complex issues and knowledge of industry standards.
  • Familiarity with BIM and standardisation of workflows are advantageous
