Job summary
A recruitment agency is seeking a highly skilled tax professional for an 8-month Temp Contract in Cape Town. The successful candidate will manage corporate tax compliance across Africa, ensuring adherence to complex tax regulations. Applicants should have at least 5 years of experience in tax accounting and a BCom degree. This role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to work proactively within a dynamic environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Tax Accounting and Compliance.
- Exposure to tax in the African region is essential.
- Experience in a multinational group is advantageous.

- Review statutory tax returns including Corporate Income Tax and VAT.
- Oversee quarterly and annual tax provision calculations.

Our client, in the oil and gas industry, is seeking a highly skilled tax professional on a 8-month Temp Contract to join their dynamic team. In this pivotal role, the successful incumbent will be responsible for ensuring compliance with complex tax regulations—all within a dynamic, multinational environment.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage corporate tax accounting and compliance across Africa.
- Review statutory tax returns, including Corporate Income Tax, VAT, WHT, and Stamp Duty.
- Oversee quarterly and annual tax provision calculations for US GAAP reporting (FIN48, FAS5).
- Review annual tax webforms for US GAAP reporting (TQFAS109).
- Support SOX reporting and ensure robust tax control processes.
- Partner with local and central finance teams to strengthen tax-related internal controls.
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP, SOX, and local statutory tax regulations.
- Lead and maintain standardized balance sheet tax account reconciliation
- Liaise with external tax service providers as needed.
Requirements
- BCom Degree or similar (Tax specialization preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Tax Accounting and Tax Compliance.
- Exposure to tax in the African region is essential.
- Experience in a multinational group is advantageous.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of direct and indirect taxation (Corporate Tax, VAT, WHT, Stamp Duty, etc.).
- Ability to interact effectively with finance teams across multiple countries.
- Excellent tax accounting and compliance skills.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Independent, proactive, and highly organized—ready to take initiative
