Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Associate Attorney to join our Rustenburg office. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in tax law, mining law, and commercial law and be eager to grow their expertise in these areas.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing legal opinions and advice on tax law, mining law, and commercial law.
• Assisting clients with dispute resolution and litigation.
• Handling tax compliance and regulatory matters.
• Engaging with SARS and other regulatory bodies.
• Drafting legal documents, opinions, and correspondence.
• Representing clients in tax-related matters before various authorities and tribunals.
• Conducting in-depth legal research on tax law, regulations, and case law.
• Liaising with clients to understand their legal needs and provide strategic advice.
• Collaborating with senior attorneys and team members to ensure the best outcomes for clients.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• LLB degree (admission as an attorney is an advantage).
• Proficiency in Afrikaans and English (both written and spoken).
• Interest or experience in tax law, mining law, and commercial law will be beneficial.
• Strong understanding of South African tax law, tax regulations, and procedures.
• Excellent research, drafting, and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in MS Office and legal research tools.
• A client-focused approach and the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
• No criminal record.
