Job summary
A tech company in South Africa is seeking an experienced Software Quality Engineer for an initial 6-month contract in Cape Town. The role involves leading quality assurance initiatives, mentoring engineers, and driving testing innovation. The ideal candidate has over 8 years of software testing experience, including leadership roles. The position offers a hybrid work model.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in both back-end and front-end testing.
- Proven ability to build and maintain test automation frameworks.
- Proficient in testing APIs and system interfaces.
- Skilled in tools like JMeter, LoadRunner, OWASP ZAP, Burp Suite.
- Experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI, ADO, Docker, Kubernetes.
- Exposure to AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- 8+ years in software testing, including 3+ years in leadership roles.
Responsibilities
- Lead QA initiatives and frameworks within the development team.
- Ensure test ability of business and technical requirements.
- Monitor and improve quality delivery across the team.
- Mentor engineers and foster technical growth.

Job Description We are looking for an experienced Software Quality Engineer to join our team on an initial 6 month contract, based in Cape Town. We are looking for someone who can join the team soonest.
The successful person will lead quality assurance initiatives across multiple projects, mentor junior and intermediate engineers, and drive innovation in testing strategies and automation. This role requires close collaboration with development, business, and architecture leads to ensure high-quality software delivery.
