Job purpose
  • Controlling outcomes of key performance areas of a district and coordinating contract management, drafting long term plans and coordinating the performance of diverse tasks / activities associated with the effective and efficient operation and maintenance of major parks, the conceptualisation of special landscaping projects, and civic decorations, coordinating development projects for international agencies, national government, provincial and local government, projecting future burial requirements, ensuring availability of adequate suitable plant material, developing relevant training courses, managing and implementing the skills development program for Parks staff, compiling and controlling operating and capital budgets and performing general administrative tasks associated with the functionality in a designated area in terms of the IDP supporting Council’s vision.
  • As part of the selection process, candidates may be tested on any requirement, skill or competency, which will include pre-employment screening, medical examination, security vetting and psychometric assessment.
