A healthcare provider in South Africa is seeking a Nurse Specialist in Tissue Viability to provide advanced clinical input on wound care. The role involves assessing, planning, and delivering individualized specialized programs of care while supervising other professionals. Candidates must be a registered nurse with experience in wound management and hold a teaching qualification. This position offers a salary range of £38,682 to £46,580 per annum, pro rata for part time.

The Tissue Viability teams across MWL have two Band 6 positions available across the sites: a substantive WTE 1.0 (37.5 hours) Band 6 based primarily at Southport and Ormskirk sites and a substantive WTE 0.4 (15 hours) based primarily at Whiston, St Helens & Newton sites, with some cross-site working required.
Will provide a specialist role under the guidance and leadership of the Lead Tissue Viability Nurse. They will provide expert advice and clinical input into the prevention of pressure ulcers and management of complex wounds.
They will support in the delivery of wound care and training of healthcare professionals, including supervision of clinical practice.
They will work as part of the MDT with the aim of preventing admission, supporting early discharge and providing ongoing support and advice for patients with wounds within the acute setting.
They will provide advanced standards of clinical assessment, evidence-based advice and education to prevent and manage wounds to patients, carers and healthcare professionals.
They will undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner and represent the lead practitioner when they are not available.

Specialist Regional Services
We provide the Mersey Regional Burns & Plastic Surgery Unit at Whiston Hospital and the Spinal Injuries Unit at Southport Hospital to more than 4 million people across the whole of Merseyside, West Lancashire, Cheshire, Isle of Man and North Wales.
