Professional Officer - Transmission System Development
Requirements
- BSc (Eng) / BScEng / BEng degree in Electrical Engineering
- Registered Candidate Engineer with ECSA
- At least 3 - 5 years relevant post graduate experience.
- Detailed knowledge of the OHS Act and Regulations.
- Financial analysis and competency in using SAP.
- A high degree of computer literacy.
Special Conditions and Physical Requirements:
- Driver’s License Code B.
- Required to work in all weather conditions.
- Required to work outside normal working hours as demanded by the exigencies of service.
- Required to use own transport for which an appropriate Transport Allowance will be payable.
Key Performance Areas
- Conducting research and investigations to obtain information for the design of high voltage network infrastructure.
- Disseminating results of research and investigations to Functional Manager, Branch Manager, fellow professionals in Operational Branches within the Department by means of written reports and meetings.
- Applies a body of professional knowledge coupled with experience to plan, design/develop and implement a full range of programmes, systems, policies and practices in relation to the professional discipline within the Transmission System Development Section to effect service delivery to customers.
- Manages approved projects and associated contracts for extensions to and replacement of equipment on the high voltage system as well as complex projects for other branches.
- Communicating with fellow professionals as well as internal and external clients to work on issues of common interest and to share information.
- Compiling and managing documentation of a complex and involved nature to facilitate the functioning of the Department/Branch.
