A recruitment agency is seeking an Events Coordinator in Johannesburg for a hands-on role focused on marketing a club and executing events. The ideal candidate should possess strong administrative skills, 3 years of event management experience, and be able to work evenings and weekends. This fixed-term contract has the potential to become permanent, offering a market-related salary plus commission.
Qualifications : Matric / Diploma in Events Management or equivalent
Minimum / Previous experience :
THIS IS A FIXED TERM CONTRACT with the possibility of becoming permanent.
This is a hands-on position based in Johannesburg.
Remuneration package : Market Related salary + commission.
Purpose :
To successfully market the club and facilities to members and the community via all communication mediums.
To plan, advertise and execute successful club events as an additional income stream and to coordinate private events to ensure repeat business.
Marketing :
Manage all social media platforms with regular updates, events information, comments and new and fresh content.
Develop campaigns to increase social media followers, participation and distribution lists.
Design monthly newsletters to advertise events, membership benefits and provide management feedback.
Plan and execute marketing campaigns for events, including email marketing, social media advertising and flyers.
Research world news, interesting articles and facts related to the club activities and sports interests of members and post supplementary articles.
Add value to sponsors by effectively advertising their involvement and product on all marketing channels.
Manage the website with regular updates and ensure that all pages and links display the most current and the correct information.
Events :
Plan, market and execute innovative club events to all members that are delivered on time, within budget and meet expectations.
Create a sense of community and support throughout the various sport sections and social members to ensure maximum support and attendance.
With input from Management develop, maintain and deliver on an annual plan for events that ensures a diverse offering.
Deliver target numbers for events through effective marketing and communication plans.
Send out surveys to identify the needs and interest of the members and surrounding communities
Work closely with the F&B Manager to secure sponsorship, events support and bar promotions.
Regular meetings with the Membership Manager and COO to drive membership and marketing opportunities.
