Position Info: Requirements:
- Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or N6.
- 3-5 years’ experience in a complex manufacturing environment.
- Component manufacturing experience coupled with machining experience will be highly beneficial.
- Ability to update and maintain all Control Plan and FMEA RPN reduction activities, as well as coordinate and improve process capabilities throughout the plant.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and knowledge of GD&T.
- Strong initiative and the ability to work well in a team environment.
- Good understanding of core tools.
Responsibilities and Expectations (not limited to):
- Maintain all associated PPAP documentation, including PFMEA, Flow Charts, Control Plans, Process Sheets, Operator Instructions, etc.
- Specify and improve manufacturing control systems to ensure safe and efficient manufacturing processes.
- Modify SAP / Mapics process routing for new material/model releases.
- Continuously improve first-time quality (FTT) metrics through data analysis and process improvements.
- Document process changes with strict adherence to change management procedures.
- Implement controls and policies to ensure equipment safety for new and existing equipment.
- Construct and maintain project timing plans where applicable.
- Assist department members in achieving departmental objectives.
- Participate in cross-functional APQP meetings for project launches.
- Coordinate with internal project management, applications engineering, and design engineering teams to ensure product design for manufacturing and timely production.
- Develop, implement, and validate new model variants to meet APQP gateways, including customer run-at-rate.
- Document process capacity and seek continuous improvements to reduce bottleneck cycle times.
- Ensure technical requirements from PFMEA and control plans are met and validated through PPAP documentation.
- Maintain action plans and trackers for improvement themes focused on RFT and FTT.
- Report on action progress in regular meetings to enhance equipment safety and process performance.
- Conduct GR&R, capability studies, and poke-yoke tests to ensure process robustness.
- Collaborate with maintenance and controls teams to prevent downtime through process and equipment redesign.
- Provide process support for equipment diagnostics.
- Design and modify jigs, fixtures, and tooling as needed.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Office Suite (including Visio and Project) is ideal but not essential.
- Travel as necessary to support operations and affiliates.
