Our team, situated in Morningside, Durban seeks a Senior Qlik Sense Developer who combines deep technical expertise with strong business acumen and a flair for visual storytelling. In this role, you’ll not only build high-performing Qlik Sense dashboards but also engage directly with business users to understand their needs, co-create analytical solutions, and uncover opportunities for improvement through data. This is a highly collaborative, strategic position where problem-solving, innovation, and design thinking are as critical as technical delivery.

• Business Analysis & Solution Design
  • Engage with business stakeholders across departments to understand strategic goals, operational challenges, and analytical needs.
  • Translate business questions into data-driven requirements, identifying KPIs, performance levers, and decision-support metrics.
  • Conduct data discovery and gap analysis to evaluate the quality, completeness, and readiness of source data.
  • Propose and prototype creative analytical approaches to uncover trends, correlations, and insights that drive action.
• Qlik Sense Development (Back-End & Front-End)
  • Design and build scalable Qlik Sense applications that include data models, load scripts, and optimized ETL processes.
  • Develop intuitive, responsive, and visually engaging dashboards with a strong focus on usability, storytelling, and user experience.
  • Apply best practices in front-end development, including consistent use of themes, navigation, drill-downs, and conditional formatting.
  • Leverage Qlik’s set analysis, variables, and advanced expressions to support complex logic and user-driven interactivity.
• Innovation & Continuous Improvement
  • Act as a thought partner to business leaders, challenging assumptions and introducing innovative data solutions.
  • Evaluate and introduce Qlik extensions, mashups, or third-party tools that enhance the platform’s capabilities.
  • Explore automation opportunities and integration points with APIs, cloud platforms, or advanced analytics models.
• Collaboration & Mentorship
  • Lead solution walkthroughs and demo sessions to validate functionality and gather feedback.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior developers, setting coding and design standards.
  • Contribute to the development of reusable components, templates, and dashboards across business units.
• Governance, Maintenance & Support
  • Ensure adherence to data governance, security policies, and version control protocols.
  • Maintain application health by conducting regular performance audits and enhancements.
  • Support production Qlik Sense environments, troubleshoot issues, and implement fixes or upgrades as required.

• Required
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Analytics, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in end-to-end Qlik Sense development, including front-end design and back-end scripting.
• Strong skills in SQL, data modeling, and ETL development across multiple data sources.
• Proven experience in requirements gathering, stakeholder engagement, and agile delivery.
• Exceptional problem-solving ability, with a track record of designing elegant, practical solutions to complex business challenges.
• Proficiency in visual storytelling and UX design principles applied to dashboard development.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

• Desirable Skills
• Experience with Qlik NPrinting, Qlik SaaS, QMC, and RESTful APIs.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) or big data environments.
• Familiarity with data science techniques or integration with tools such as Python or R.
• Knowledge of data governance frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, POPIA).
