Job summary
A legal firm in Johannesburg seeks a motivated Junior Litigation Attorney. This role includes drafting legal documents, conducting legal research, and assisting in court proceedings. Our client, a law firm based in Bedfordview, is seeking a motivated and dynamic Junior Attorney to join their litigation team. The successful candidate will primarily handle matters in the High Court and Magistrate's Court, assisting senior attorneys while gaining valuable experience in various aspects of litigation.
- Drafting pleadings, notices, affidavits, and other legal documents for litigation cases.
- Conducting legal research and analysis on case law and statutes relevant to ongoing matters.
- Assisting in the preparation of trial bundles and court presentations.
- Attending court proceedings, including trials, hearings, and motions.
- Liaising with clients, counsel, and other stakeholders.
- Managing case files, including maintaining records, updating clients, and tracking deadlines.
- Assisting senior attorneys in case strategy development and execution.
- Previous experience on evictions, high court, and magistrate's litigation matters.
- Experience of Court online and Caselines.
- Strong understanding of litigation procedures.
- Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Ability to draft pleadings independently.
- Effective time management and organizational abilities.
- Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience with legal software and research databases.
- Demonstrated interest in litigation and courtroom advocacy.
