Successful Engineering Management is the core of the Emerson Solutions delivery. The Cybersecurity team within Engineering is well supported by the Global Engineering Standards Organization and the Technology to deliver “Project Certainty” to meet our customer’s demands.

Senior Engineer – Cybersecurity is a member of Emerson’s Cybersecurity team. This position focuses on crafting and implementing security solutions based on Emerson’s suite of solutions to meet the needs of our customers in the Southern African world Area. The position is an integral part of a highly technical team passionate about developing and delivering these solutions.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• The major responsibilities revolve around project delivery, including the design and implementation of the relevant Cybersecurity technical solutions on projects and customer sites, as well as ongoing site-based maintenance activities once project implementation has concluded.
• Performing vulnerability assessments on customer's control systems, developing assessment reports and suggesting mitigation/remediation strategies.
• Reviewing these solutions with the customers and implementing them on the shop floor for factory acceptance testing and delivery on customer systems at sites around Middle East and predominantly Southern Africa and rest of Africa.
• Implementing recommended mitigation/remediation strategies & Installation, configuration and tuning of Emerson Cybersecurity solutions.
• Selecting required components, configuring those and ensuring that the offered solutions meet the specifications and achieve customer acceptance.
• Working on current Emerson solutions which include McAfee, Symantec, Acronis and in-house Emerson offerings.
• Developing a positive environment in a Cybersecurity Team for work and professional growth.
• Supporting Emerson MEA with Sales activities as required.
• Performing base customer support activities as needed, including phone support, field service and remote diagnostics, as well as working with Emerson Field Support Engineers, regional offices and authority resources as needed to resolve issues.
• Continually and proactively increasing one’s technical capabilities, growing and establishing higher levels of expertise.

• Emerson Automation Solutions is seeking a candidate to fill the position of Senior Engineer – Cybersecurity.
• Part of the Cybersecurity delivery team with project delivery responsibilities along with Site service and maintenance responsibilities.
• Responsible for creating a positive experience for our customers, delighting them with solutions that exceed their expectations and helping them to make the systems secure.

For This Role, You Will Need:

• A bachelor’s degree in engineering- Computer Technology or equivalent.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in DCS systems and relevant experience towards Cybersecurity will be evaluated.
• A good understanding of Emerson Distributed Control System requirements and applicable Cybersecurity solutions.
• Basic qualifications in Networking, CCNA or equivalent.
• Good familiarity with Microsoft Operating Systems and Windows Domains.
• Experience in Virtualization preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in a formal environment.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

• Knowledge of Cybersecurity appliances, applications, tools and techniques used in DeltaV / Ovation and in other applications.
• Conversant with DeltaV Networking, DeltaV Virtual Studio, DeltaV Cybersecurity and antivirus solutions.
• Possess sophisticated fixing skills (diagnosing and resolving computer-related issues).
• The ability to work optimally with internal and external customers is crucial.
• Solid understanding of ISA / IEC 62443 and DeltaV Cybersecurity manual.
• Language: English written and spoken is required. French Language skills will be an added advantage.
• Recognize and accept HSE Roles & Responsibilities as defined in Emerson’s Company Procedures.
