Job summary
A logistics company in Gqeberha is looking for a Van Assistant to support the driver in delivering parcels efficiently. You will be responsible for loading and unloading parcels, sorting them accurately, and providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate should be reliable, physically fit, and capable of lifting parcels up to 25 kg. Experience in courier or delivery is preferred.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in courier, delivery, or warehousing preferred.
- Ability to lift and carry parcels weighing up to 25 kg safely.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.

Looking for a Van Assistant to assist with timely delivery of parcels, provide excellent customer service, and ensure accurate handling and sorting of parcels.
To assist the driver in the timely and efficient delivery and collection of parcels, ensuring parcels are handled carefully, accurately sorted, and delivered according to schedule while providing excellent customer service.
- Assist the driver with loading and unloading parcels from the delivery van.
- Ensure all parcels are correctly sorted and organized for delivery.
- Help with delivering parcels to customers, obtaining signatures or proof of delivery.
- Handle parcels carefully to avoid damage or loss.
- Support the driver in navigating routes and managing delivery schedules.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and collections.
- Communicate effectively with the driver, dispatch, and customers.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the van.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Report any issues such as missing parcels, damaged goods, or delivery problems promptly.
- Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent (advantageous but not essential)
- Previous experience in courier, delivery, or warehousing (preferred)
- Ability to lift and carry parcels weighing up to 25 kg safely
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings or weekends if required
