POSITION : Branch Manager
LOCATION : Durban
REPORTING TO : Chief Executive Officer
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB: Manage Branch within allocated region.

Ensure consistent profitable growth in sales revenues through effective planning and management of sales and operational personnel.

Identify objectives, strategies, and action plans to improve short- and long-term objectives and strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • Matric / Grade 12
  • National Diploma in Sales Management
  • Diploma in Sales Management or Business Management would be an advantage
  • Degree or Post Graduate Degree would be an advantage
  • Minimum 5 years' experience using Microsoft packages
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in the local roof industry
  • Minimum 12-15 years' experience in sales in the construction industry
  • Minimum 6-10 years' experience in a management position
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Keep the company informed of new developments in the worldwide Roofing Industry and propose adaptations, new ventures, or products.
  • Drive innovation and the progressive nature of the company by seeking better ways to operate and replacing outdated methods.
  • Market the company and its products to Developers, Architects, Main Contractors, and Design Engineers on a technical basis.
  • Liaise with government bodies such as DTI, IDC, SAIC, SAMCRA, and SABS to enhance industry standards and obtain project approvals.
  • Monitor and analyze imported products and assess risks and opportunities for the company.
  • Gather and interpret market demand to innovate and improve the company's product range.
  • Test, analyze, and enhance current products to stay ahead of competitors and improve cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure all equipment has a design blueprint and is properly stored.
  • Represent the company at SAMCRA meetings and manage intellectual property rights.

BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCE: Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Skills / Abilities: Persuasion, critical thinking, active listening, judgment and decision making, negotiation and conflict management, fluency of ideas, problem solving.

Experience in senior-level roles, with good communication skills, in FMCG environments, and in employee and stakeholder engagement.

Strong management skills including performance management, talent development, and fostering a high-performance culture.
