Globe 24-7 in partnership with a key mining client are working together to source an experienced Senior Site Accountant for their team inSouth East Africa.
This will be a FIFO (fly in / fly out) role 6 / 3 (6 weeks on and 3 weeks off).
Globe 24-7 is seeking a Senior Site Accountant for a key mining client.
Responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records for mine site operations, including stockpile inventories, consumables, power usage, messing and accommodation costs, all internal and external cost allocations and recoveries, and diesel fuel usage and reconciliations
Liaising with related Mining and Processing personnel to ensure that metallurgical accounting entries are being accurately captured
Drive month-end close processes, including journal preparation, accruals, reconciliations, and reporting
Responsibility for collating the key financial and non-financial / physical inputs for the mine inventories stockpile model and reporting through to Group Finance on a timely and accurate basis
Ensure compliance with the Group's delegations of authority and approvals matrix
Ensure that advance payments and prepayments are completed in Pronto in the approved manner
Ensure that bank reconciliations are being performed on regular basis
Ensure that monthly balance sheet reconciliations are being performed with detailed supporting schedules
Responsible for stores warehouse inventory and management of inventory valuation reporting
Work with the Corporate office to drive the planning cycle for annual budgets, quarterly forecasts and life-of-mine plans, and act as process owner on site for all finance budgeting and reporting activities.
Prepare cash flow forecasts for the operations and submit timely cash calls to head-office
Oversee disbursement of payments in accordance with the Company's delegation of authority.
Assist Group Finance with WIP and fixed asset management
Support Project teams with accounting for capital expenditure (CAPEX)
Act as a key user and subject matter expert for Pronto ERP, assisting with system configuration, reporting, and troubleshooting.
Provide training and support to site-based finance, procurement and operational personnel on Pronto modules (inventory, procurement, assets, and general ledger).
Drive process improvements and efficiencies through optimal use of Pronto functionality and related software (i.e. PeopleTray, PaySpace, plant and mining management software systems, SharePoint, etc.)
Bachelor of Commerce or similar Business / Accounting Degree
Chartered Accountant or Certified Practicing Accountant
Minimum of 3 years of experience in the mining industry in a similar role.
