Aftercare and Community Development Manager

We’re seeking a dynamic and compassionate Aftercare and Community Development Manager to lead our Aftercare Centre with heart, while driving meaningful community and wellness initiatives across the farm.

Requirements:
- A teaching qualification.
- Minimum of 10 years’ teaching experience, including experience in community upliftment.
- Fluency in Afrikaans and English, with good communication skills.
- Availability to work from Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00, with occasional overtime before or after regular office hours and during school holidays as required.
- Goal‑orientated, patient, and enthusiastic about working with learners.
- Strong crisis management skills.
- Valid driver’s licence with PDP (Code 8) and own transport.
- Preference will be given to suitably qualified applicants from designated groups.
Aftercare Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily management of staff, drivers, tutors, and learners.
- Handle general purchases, including learners’ stationery, school and sports clothing, and materials needed for assignments and events.
- Assist with preparation and submission of learners’ school applications.
- Manage the D6 programme and coordinate communication between the school and parents.
- Support entrepreneurial days and other school initiatives.
- Assist learners with assignments and procure materials as required.
- Facilitate high school learners’ aptitude tests.
- Support matriculants with tertiary applications, including course materials and accommodation arrangements, as needed.
- Arrange and coordinate camps for learners.
- Address learners’ social issues and coordinate external support where necessary.
- Meet with teachers to discuss learner progress, when required.
- Transport learners to extracurricular activities using own vehicle, as needed.
- Celebrate learners’ special occasions and milestones.
- Uphold good relationships with learners’ parents and provide support as needed.
- Oversee general maintenance of the Aftercare Centre.
- Manage the Aftercare Centre’s business plan and budget.
Community Responsibilities:
- Oversee the disposal and channelling of waste from the canteen to external parties, as required.
- Manage the donation of old uniforms to external recipients.
- Handle external sponsorship applications and coordinate fruit donations to hospitals, old‑age homes, and schools (at least twice per year).
- Support the Farm Committee in implementing initiatives such as sports days, fashion shows, and other community events.
- Facilitate participation in the Pebbles Project and Kleinbosch initiatives, as needed.
