Position

Receiving & Dispatching Clerk

Location

Randburg

Responsible for daily monitoring and management of inventory movement in and out of the warehouse, as well as overseeing general warehouse operations. Ensure all merchandise is packed in the correct sequence and maintain a high standard of housekeeping within the warehouse. Assist with boxing, packaging, labelling and dispatching orders for both collection and delivery.

Receiving Support Service
  • Assist with receiving and unloading incoming deliveries.
  • Verify shipment accuracy by comparing packing slips with purchase orders and report any discrepancies to the manager.
  • Sort, count, label, and log inventory for both shipped and received items.
  • Follow specific instructions and procedures as directed.
  • Manage inventory control according to the guidelines provided by the Logistics Manager.
  • Inspect deliveries for damage or defects, document discrepancies, and notify the appropriate manager.
  • Operate equipment such as dollies, pallet jacks, and forklifts to safely load and unload merchandise, adhering to all safety regulations.
  • Repackage items by placing them in new boxes when the original packaging is damaged during transit.
  • Prepare delivery tickets and waybills for customer shipments.
Packing Support Service
  • Accurately and legibly complete all required documentation for each product, in accordance with warehouse procedures.
  • Maintain a clean work area by collecting unused raw materials for reconciliation, disposing of waste materials after counting, and storing equipment (scales, code guns, blister plates, etc.) in their proper locations.
  • Report any equipment issues to the Logistics Manager, providing details such as the type of equipment, nature of the problem, frequency, etc.
  • Inform the Logistics Manager of any packing issues encountered.
  • Pack products in the warehouse while adhering to prescribed Health & Safety guidelines.
  • Ensure products are correctly labelled and catalogued, making amendments when necessary.
  • Verify product labels, store items in their designated locations, and ensure they are organized in the correct sequence within the warehouse.
  • Safely operate equipment such as dollies, pallet jacks, and forklifts to load and unload merchandise, following all safety regulations.
Dispatch Support Service
  • Locate, retrieve, and sort product items/merchandise for dispatch, ensuring accuracy by comparing items with the delivery note prepared by the Finance Department (including quantities, destination, and routing).
  • Pack, box, and label customer orders for collection by the customer or a courier service.
  • Prepare waybills for outgoing shipments and deliveries.
  • Coordinate with the courier company to arrange collection and delivery of goods to customers when necessary.
  • Supervise the collection of packages by the courier service.
General
  • Assist with monthly inventory counts at the financial year‑end, or as required by the Finance Department.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve company goals related to productivity, safety, and quality.
  • Support other production teams during downtime, slack periods, or upon early completion of assigned tasks.
  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures set by the company, as updated from time to time.
  • Perform additional duties within your skill set and capabilities as required by the company.
Safety and Quality Responsibilities
  • Maintain standards of safety and comply with the company and SA's policy and procedures, take reasonable care of one's own health and safety and that of others in the workplace, Follow and maintain the company’s SA standards of Quality.
Qualifications
  • Education: Grade 12
  • Experience: At least 2 years’ experience with warehouse or distribution activities - in packaging, dispatch, shipping, receiving
Skills
  • Knowledge of courier and import and export shipping documentation and requirements
  • Able to read, comprehend, and legibly write English
  • Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
  • Ability to use a simple calculator
  • Ability to lift to 40 kilograms up to 40 centimeters from the floor
  • Able to use both hands to package products
  • Able to stand at workstations and use material handling equipment to move products
  • Computer literacy
Work Environment
  • On‑site
  • Full‑time position with flexibility during peak periods (end of the month/quarter/year).
  • 3 Months probation before perm
Salary & Benefits

Salary Band: R 10,000 – R 12,000 per month

3‑month probation.

Thereafter company contribution:

  • Medical Aid – Be part of Employer medical aid Discovery / Bonita’s where the company will contribute +- R 2,600 per month.
  • Old Mutual Provident Fund – 3% of TCTC Employer contribution & 3% employee contribution.
  • Company provides a Bonus in November.
