Our client in the Automotive Parts Manufacturing industry is looking for a Purchasing Assistant to join their team.

POSITION INFO :

• To provide results driven leadership to the purchasing, planning, and shipping.
• To proactively obtain industry trend data and provide timely feedback to Management Team.
• To provide input and data to support MSSL ongoing budgeting and strategic planning process.
• To identify and develop strategic suppliers/partnerships to support MSSL business goals.
• Skillful in planning and analyzing the requirements of the production department.
• Ability to design specifications for the raw materials ordered.
• Skilled at researching the market, looking for potential suppliers and designing quotations for the purchase order.
• Well-versed with the traditional as well as advanced methods used in inventory control.
• Ensure all raw material and BOPs are delivered timeously. Zero Air Freights.
• Send suppliers call offs.
• Maintain minimum and maximum stock levels for all direct items, both in Plant and Supplier.
• Following up on shortages, doing physical counts on items in stores and production if required, and advising affected departments on status.
• Checking for any shipment delays that could be a risk to production.
• Tracking of all Import Material and BOP - performing random verification of Stores daily counts on RM and BOP counts.
• Preparing 6 Month forecast and sending to suppliers, checking, and advising management of any future risks.
• Requesting Quarterly pricing from supplier, as per Forex Letter from TSAM.
• Preparing the quarterly pricing sheet and sending to marketing.
• Assisting with invoice queries, Supplier Audits/Meetings.
• Monitoring and updating SLA’s.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS (QUALIFICATION & TRAINING):

Matric / Grade 12.

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge of Raw Materials and BOP.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES (ATTRIBUTES) REQUIRED:

Good verbal and written communication.

Computer literate.

Good people skills, a team player and customer-oriented.
