Join Our Culinary Leadership Team at Zén Singapore – Now Hiring a Senior Sous Chef

Zén, the sister restaurant to the internationally acclaimed 3-Michelin star Frantzén in Stockholm, is seeking a Senior Sous Chef to play a pivotal role in our Michelin-starred kitchen in Singapore.
Located in a historic three-storey shophouse in the heart of the city, Zén offers a progressive tasting menu that blends Nordic culinary philosophy with the finest Asian ingredients. What We’re Looking For:
We are seeking a Senior Sous Chef with strong leadership, creativity, and a deep understanding of high-end kitchen operations. You will support the Head Chef in overseeing all aspects of kitchen management while driving consistency, innovation, and team development.
· Experience: At least 5 years of progressive experience in fine dining, including a minimum of 2 years in a Sous Chef or Senior Sous Chef role. Michelin-starred experience highly preferred.
· Leadership: Exceptional team management and mentorship skills; able to lead by example, motivate staff, and build a strong kitchen culture.
· Operational Expertise: Competent in managing kitchen operations, scheduling, procurement, food costing, and quality control.
· Creativity: Strong culinary instincts and the ability to contribute meaningfully to menu development.
· Communication: Excellent command of English and clear, effective communication in a high-pressure environment.
· Discipline & Integrity: High personal standards, with a relentless focus on hygiene, organization, and professionalism.
Your Responsibilities:
· Oversee the day-to-day operations of the kitchen and ensure smooth, timely service during prep and dinner services.
· Support the Head Chef in leading the culinary team, conducting briefings, and enforcing kitchen protocols.
· Supervise and mentor Sous Chefs, Chef de Parties, Commis, and interns, fostering a collaborative and performance-driven environment.
· Uphold Zén’s high standards of food quality, taste, consistency, and plating.
· Assist in the development and refinement of new dishes and tasting menus.
· Monitor and manage inventory, food cost, and kitchen efficiencies.
· Ensure all hygiene, health, and safety standards are strictly followed at all times.
· Act as the Head Chef’s second-in-command and assume leadership responsibilities in their absence.
