Job Description
- Create daily to monthly production schedules based on forecasts, orders, and inventory levels.
- Distribute orders across production lines, considering equipment capability and efficiency.
- Monitor work-in-progress and adjust schedules to manage delays or production issues.
- Prioritize production tasks to maximize output and minimize downtime or overstock.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely availability of raw and packaging materials.
- Support inventory management by working with Marketing to clear excess or idle stock.
- Plan production around machine capacity, maintenance, workforce, and output rates.
- Track and analyze KPIs like efficiency, yield, downtime, and adherence to plans.
- Use past data to improve forecast accuracy and production planning.
- Generate reports on production performance, inventory, lead times, and delivery metrics.
- Provide updates to customers and collaborate with customer service on delivery matters.
- Support regional sales teams with data analysis and sales reporting.
- Communicate plans with production, maintenance, logistics, and other related teams.
- Work closely with Sales, Marketing, and Shipping teams to manage urgent or changing orders.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Production Planner should have:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in production planning within a manufacturing or high-volume factory environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions for planning and data analysis.
- Familiarity with ERP systems is an added advantage.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of data accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
- Proactive and able to solve problems under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
