A language service provider is seeking a Mandarin Interpreter based in Malaysia, Kedah. This remote position involves interpreting conversations between individuals with language barriers during phone or video calls. The ideal candidate will possess excellent listening and note-taking skills, be bilingual at a B2 CEFR English Level, and have the ability to remain neutral and professional while handling sensitive issues in various sectors such as healthcare and law enforcement.

• Ability to explain certain cultural concepts to avoid miscommunication

• Able to work from home on a permanent basis

Responsibilities

• Provide language interpretation from one language to another for individual with language barrier to understand and communicate to each other
• Handling telephone or video calls on demand and renders meaning of conversations in the consecutive mode of interpretation between speakers of English
• Processes information quickly and concisely, recognizes sensitive cultural differences, and is always professional and courteous
• The interpreter will use appropriate industry terminology and understand common industry procedures and practices. The calls may involve simple or
• complex, non-technical or technical subjects in Healthcare, Government, Insurance, Finance, Utilities, Travel and Hospitality, 911 emergency services, Law Enforcement, Courts, and General Business.
