Position: WBL Instructor & Coordinator (Hotel Management)

As a WBL Instructor & Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in implementing and managing our Work‑Based Learning programme, ensuring students achieve learning outcomes through structured workplace training, assessment, and coordination between industry partners and the institution.

Key Responsibilities
Instructor Duties
  • Guide and mentor students during WBL placements in hotel/industry settings.
  • Develop instructional plans, learning resources, and workplace‑based assessment tools.
  • Monitor and evaluate students’ progress, performance, and attainment against learning outcomes.
  • Provide student support, counselling, and career advice within the scope of the programme.
  • Ensure workplace safety, health, and professional conduct standards are upheld.
Coordinator Duties
  • Act as the key liaison between the institution, students, employers, industry coaches, and tutors.
  • Oversee the planning, placement, and scheduling of WBL activities.
  • Manage administrative processes associated with the WBL programme.
  • Facilitate effective communication and resolve issues related to student placement and industry engagement.
  • Support continuous improvement and compliance with MQA/MOHE quality assurance standards.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Academic Qualifications

✔ Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Tourism, Education, or a closely related field.
✔ Master’s degree or higher in relevant field — preferred (especially for more senior roles).

Professional & Industry Experience

✔ Minimum 2–3 years of relevant industry experience in hospitality or hotel operations (supervisory or managerial level).
✔ Experience in educational environments, especially WBL/2u2i or workplace training coordination — highly desirable.

Work‑Based Learning Competence

✔ Knowledge of WBL implementation, workplace coaching, and assessing students during their industry placement.
✔ Understanding of MQA/MOHE quality assurance requirements for WBL.

Skills

✔ Strong communication (English/Bahasa Melayu) and interpersonal skills
✔ Excellent organizational, administrative and reporting capabilities
✔ Ability to build strong relationships with industry partners and stakeholders
