Job summary

A leading food processing company in Malaysia, located in Selangor, is seeking an Environmental Safety Officer to ensure compliance with wastewater treatment regulations and oversee equipment functionality. The ideal candidate will have a Diploma in Environmental Safety, excellent communication skills, and at least 2 years of experience in the field. Qualifications

  • Up to date on the latest local and state regulation and guideline changes.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure wastewater treatment plant compliance with DOE standards.
  • Oversee sampling and testing systems and equipment functionality.
  • Develop and implement inspection policies and routine inspection schedules.
  • Prepare and schedule training for WWTP operators.
  • Document inspection findings in reports.

Skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Education

Diploma in Environmental Safety or equivalent
Job description

To ensure wastewater treatment plant and schedule waste are in compliance with DOE standard.

To ensure compliance with regulatory procedures and reporting practices (OER & eSWIS).

Oversees sampling and testing systems, and the functionality of pumps, conveyors, blowers, and other equipment.

Develops and implements inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections.

Prepare and schedule training for WWTP operators.

Prepare inspection reports to document inspection findings.

Ensures that material safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed.

Any other duties which may be assigned by Superior.

Job Requirements
  • Candidate must possess at least Diploma in Environmental Safety, or equivalent.
  • At least 2 Year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
