Job summary

A water treatment services provider in Johor, Malaysia is looking for a Water Treatment Plant Operator to oversee the operation and ensure compliance with environmental standards. The successful candidate will manage inspection records, collect chemical samples, perform lab tests, and lead maintenance efforts on equipment. A degree in engineering or science is required, alongside certifications and strong communication skills. This role is critical to maintaining operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.

Job description

Responsible for the operation of the water treatment plant and ensure the discharge of waste water fully adhere to the standard required.

Ensure timely inspection and update of all records / statistical data concerning water treatment plant operations.

Collects samples, identifies concentrations of chemical and characteristics of wastewater. Performs quality control tests on lab equipment and lab analyses.

Evaluates data and produce reports for submission as required by DOE standards and requirements.

Monitors the condition of all equipment and gauges in the treatment plant & pump stations and lead improvement project.

Engage maintenance work to immediate repairs of malfunctions gauges, pumps, filters and other controls and equipment. Assist repair works when necessary.

Ensure that plant operations is in compliance with the regulations set by the Department of Environment and other government bodies

REQUIREMENT

Min degree in engineering or science or equivalent

Certified Cepietso-BP, Cepietso-PCP holder

Familiar with Facilities Maintenance, Utilities Maintenance and WWTP

Familiar with laboratory tests conducted in a effluent treatment plant.

Must be good in communication and leadership skill.
