Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Lead and manage a large, diverse engineering team across R&D, electrical, mechanical, embedded systems, and product design functions.
- Define and execute the engineering strategy aligned with company goals and innovation roadmap.
- Oversee end-to-end product lifecycle: concept, prototyping, testing, production, and post-launch optimisation.
- Technical Oversight: Direct R&D initiatives to advance product capabilities (Drones, Robotics, Smart Devices or other advanced hardware systems).
- Supervise the design and development of electrical systems, embedded software, avionics, and integration with mechanical components.
- Ensure engineering excellence through best practices in product design, safety compliance, and quality control.
- Maintain deep knowledge of relevant technologies, components, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Team & Resource Management: Mentor and develop senior engineering managers and technical leads.
- Allocate resources effectively across multiple concurrent projects.
- Foster a collaborative culture between engineering, product management, manufacturing, and operations.
- Innovation & Industry Engagement: Keep the company at the forefront of drone and related hardware fields.
- Collaborate with regulatory bodies, research institutions, and industry partners to ensure compliance and competitive advantage.
- Turn innovation into company-owned assets by ensuring new designs, technologies, and processes are properly documented, protected, and leveraged for strategic advantage.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s in Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Aerospace Engineering, or related fields.
- Experience: Minimum 8 years in engineering roles, with at least 4 years in a senior leadership position managing large multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven track record in R&D and electrical engineering for advanced hardware systems (e.g., drones, robotics, automotive, aerospace, industrial equipment, or consumer electronics).
- Track record of taking products from concept to market at scale.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Hands-on technical expertise combined with strategic thinking.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, supply chain, and cost optimisation.
