Job summary

A logistics company in Malaysia seeks a Driver Management professional to supervise a team of drivers, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with schedules. Responsibilities include overseeing operations, managing client communications regarding ETA, and maintaining regulatory compliance. Job description
1 Driver Management
  • To manage and supervise a team of drivers to ensure optimal performance.
  • Monitor daily arrival and departure times of haulage/trucking drivers to ensure compliance with schedules.
  • Track daily driver attendance against forecasted plans to ensure timely arrivals.
2 Operations Management
  • Oversee the overall operation of the haulage/trucking department, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Prepare haulage/trucking plans, confirm client orders, and check trucks’ GPS and drivers’ locations.
3 Client Communication
  • Update clients with ETA (estimated time of arrival) for both collection and delivery points.
  • Communicate and update customers on delivery and collection information and status.
  • Collect complete Consignment Note (CN) from drivers the next working day upon delivery completion.
4 Regulatory and Compliance
  • Serve as the company representative for Customs-related matters.
  • Assist in organizing and overseeing all safety checks and routine vehicle checks, adhering to company and statutory requirements.
5 Reporting and Documentation
  • Provide escalation, status reports, delay notifications, and proactive updates to relevant departments.
  • Prepare daily reports on trackers such as routes, staging, performance, backlog, truck planning, daily trips, and ad-hoc trips.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in operation planning, driver management, shipment scheduling and arrangement, and port operations.(Executive level)
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and Haulage/trucking Systems.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with port regulations, customs procedures, and statutory requirements.
