Role Description
The Senior Treasury Accountant will be involved in all aspects of treasury accounting including month end accounting of all treasury transactions and reconciliation of key accounts, financial reporting, and Board and Audit Risk Management Committee reporting and ensuring compliance with Treasury Policy. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of derivative products and hedge accounting, including FX risk management, and be a detail‑oriented and analytical finance professional to play a key role in managing the organization’s financial resources and ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the month end close process for Treasury, ensuring accurate and timely recording of all treasury transactions within the General Ledger and complete reconciliations.
- Prepare the monthly FX and interest P&L management reports and provide insights on material variances.
- Prepare hedge accounting activities in accordance with accounting standards including documentation of hedge relationships and provide advisory support on hedge accounting queries as they arise.
- Monitor weekly policy compliance, including deal confirmations and dealer limits.
- Prepare interest budgets and forecasts.
- Prepare the monthly Treasury management pack and quarterly Audit Risk Management Committee reporting and provide insights on Treasury performance monthly/quarterly.
- Prepare external financial reporting requirements pertaining to Treasury, including Treasury related Financial Statement notes.
- Co‑ordinate the preparation of the semi‑annual covenant reporting including the preparation of Treasury related items.
- Assist in developing and implementing treasury accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements and Treasury policy.
- Assist with external auditors and regulatory agencies to support audits, reviews, and inquiries related to treasury accounting and reporting.
- Monitor and analyse changes in accounting standards and regulations related to treasury activities and ensure timely implementation of any required updates or changes.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements within the treasury accounting function, and support initiatives to implement changes.
- Act as treasury accounting SME to support system changes, integrations, and enhancements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including accounting, tax and operational teams, to support treasury‑related initiatives and ad hoc projects where required.
Qualifications
- Professional accounting, finance or relevant professional accounting or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a treasury accounting role.
- Proven experience of accounting standards, importantly hedge accounting recognition and measurement for cashflow hedges and net investment hedges.
- Strong understanding of derivative instruments including foreign currency swaps and forwards, interest rate swaps and cross currency interest rate swaps.

- Proficiency in financial systems and software applications, with experience in using ERP systems, treasury management systems and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment and to tight timelines.
