Job summary

A leading technology firm in Penang is seeking a skilled professional to develop and enhance test and burn-in processes. This role involves ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, coordinating preventive maintenance, and collaborating with engineering teams on new product introductions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in high-level repairs and troubleshooting multiple systems. Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and improve all test and burn-in processes within area of responsibility.
  • Review process specifications and update as required.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, ISO-9000, and BABT standards.
  • Review quality yields and develop corrective actions.
  • Assist with fabrication and development of new equipment.
  • Ensure effective preventive maintenance and calibration schedules.
  • Coordinate manufacturing and maintenance preventive activities.
  • Assist engineering labs with new product development.
  • Monitor product off-load activities for test processes.
  • Facilitate training and certification packages.
  • Assist with equipment moves or line rearrangements.
  • Evaluate new equipment and develop cost-effective justifications.
  • Drive recovery actions for down test processes.
  • Coordinate disaster recovery plans for processes.
  • Follow engineering test processes.
  • Perform high-level repairs and connect hardware.
  • Configure firmware and troubleshoot at multiple system levels.
Job description
Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain and improve all test and burn‑in processes within area or responsibility.
  • Periodically review process specifications to determine if they accurately reflect requirements and test techniques, updating them as required.
  • Ensure that test and burn‑in processes comply with all safety, ISO‑9000 and BABT standards.
  • Consistently review quality yields and develop corrective actions to eliminate yield detractors, further improving process and product reliability. Work with the Quality Engineer to determine if field/box line data indicates a need for process/product improvement.
  • Assist with the fabrication and development of new equipment, fixtures and test programs.
  • Ensure effective preventive maintenance, calibration, diagnostics, re‑qualification and daily measurement schedules are in place for each test and burn‑in process.
  • Coordinate manufacturing, maintenance and engineering preventive maintenance activities, ensuring scheduled preventive maintenance is completed according to the specified schedule.
  • Assist engineering and development labs with all new product introduction and development.
  • Coordinate and monitor all FIMPA or product off‑load activities for assigned test and burn‑in processes.
  • Ensure that each test and burn‑in process has a training/certification package for both manufacturing and maintenance; facilitate completion of these packages with the appropriate engineer(s) and the Resource Development Department.
  • Assist Industrial Engineering with all equipment moves or line re‑arrangements as required.
  • Periodically evaluate new equipment and develop a realistic and cost‑effective capitol justification for purchasing it.
  • Drive recovery actions/repair of any test or burn‑in process that is down; coordinate recovery/repair activities with maintenance, technicians, engineers, suppliers or maintenance spare parts analysts whose area of competence is necessary to get the process back in working order.
  • Coordinate the development of disaster recovery plans for each test and burn‑in process within the area of responsibility.
  • Follow Engineering test processes.
  • Perform high‑level repair, format and build software per unit configuration and connect hardware (cables) between multiple units and bynets.
  • Configure/flashes firmware on the CMIC Sub‑assembly and connect twisted pair and BNC Ethernet connections between unit(s).
  • Troubleshoot/debug at multiple system levels.
