Job summary

A leading automotive service provider in Ipoh, Malaysia, is seeking a qualified technician. The candidate will perform wheel alignment and balancing tasks, inspect vehicle systems, and assist with tire services. Applicants should have a diploma in Automotive Technology, a valid Class D driving license, and at least one year of relevant experience in the automotive repair industry. Basic English and Malay reading skills are necessary. This role requires adherence to safety procedures and the maintenance of work tools.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a technician in automotive repairs.
  • Basic skills in reading and writing in English & Malay.
  • Valid Class D driving license is required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform wheel alignment and balancing using specialized machines.
  • Inspect suspension, steering, and tires for issues.
  • Conduct test drives to confirm alignment accuracy.
  • Maintain cleanliness and proper inventory of work tools.

Job description
Work Hours:

Monday to Friday 8.30am - 5.00pm; Saturday 8.30am - 1.30pm.

  • Diploma in Automotive Technology or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of working experience as a technician in the automotive repairs industry is good
  • Possess basic reading and writing skills in English & Malay to comprehend repair orders
  • Possess basic computer skills
  • Possess a valid Class D driving license
Job Description
  • Perform wheel alignment and balancing using specialized machines and tools
  • Inspect suspension, steering, and tires for issues affecting alignment and balancing
  • Carry out tire replacement, tire rotation, and tire repairs
  • Check tire wear patterns and advise Service Advisor/Foreman of any additional repairs or safety concerns
  • Conduct test drives before and after alignment to confirm accuracy
  • Maintain alignment, balancing, and tire equipment in good condition
  • Follow all safety procedures and manufacturer standards in every job
  • Support the Service Department with other workshop tasks when required
  • Maintain cleanliness & tidiness of work space and proper inventory of work tools
