Job summary

An educational institution in Malaysia is seeking a candidate to provide practical and technical support for efficient laboratory operations. Job description

Provide practical and technical support to UniKL academic staff and students to ensure efficient laboratory and workshop operations. Perform timely maintenance and servicing of laboratory and workshop equipment. Prepare technical and maintenance reports on the condition of equipment and machines within the laboratory/workshop. Assist in preparing materials and equipment for teaching and learning practical sessions. Maintain accurate documentation, manage inventory, and ensure compliance with ISO requirements, accreditation standards, and safety procedures.

Key Roles

• Provide practical and technical support to UniKL academic staff and students to ensure efficient laboratory and workshop operations.
• Perform timely maintenance and servicing of laboratory and workshop equipment.
• Prepare technical and maintenance reports on the condition of equipment and machines within the laboratory/workshop.
• Assist in preparing materials and equipment for teaching and learning practical sessions.
• Maintain accurate documentation, manage inventory, and ensure compliance with ISO requirements, accreditation standards, and safety procedures.
• Support lecturers in conducting experiments, including trials and demonstrations for students.
• Provide administrative assistance to the L&W Executive as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum Diploma in Engineering or Engineering Technology in Electrical, Electronic, Instrumentation, or any related discipline.
• At least 3 years of working experience is preferred.
• Practical experience and knowledge in instrumentation, automation, Distributed Control Systems (DCS), or Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) will be an added advantage.
• Familiarity with microprocessors and microcontrollers is an added benefit.
• Highly self-motivated with strong teamwork skills; able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proven ability to propose innovative ideas to enhance laboratory and workshop operations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear and accurate technical reports.
• Good knowledge in equipment troubleshooting, scheduled waste handling, and general maintenance.
