Job summary

A leading food industry company in Malaysia is seeking a Technical Support Specialist to provide support to flour customers, conduct research and development, and monitor market trends. Candidates should have a degree in Food Science or a related field with at least 2 years of relevant experience, particularly in the flour or baking sector. Proficiency in English, Mandarin, and Bahasa Malaysia is essential, and the role requires an outgoing personality with strong communication skills.

Job description

Provide technical support to flour customers including attend to customer enquiry, feedback/complaint, product demonstrations, plant trial runs, and troubleshooting at customer premises.

Conduct research & development for flour product matching, recipes improvement, new recipe development for new end products based on market or customer requirement.

Build up market end users database, flour product application, competitor flour profile, monitor and gather market info for continuous improvement and market strategizing.

Monitor market trend and stay updated on industry developments relevant to flour product and application.

Conduct baking training workshops for internal R&D/ Technical team or customer.

Perform any other duties / responsibilities as assigned by the Technical Manager/ Group Technical Manager (Flour).

Requirements
  • Degree in Food Science, Food Technology or Science related discipline.
  • Possess min. 2 years of experience in food ingredient related technical service or R & D work. Experience with flour or baking is a strong advantage.
  • Proficient in spoken and written English, Mandarin and Bahasa Malaysia, with good reporting skills. We are seeking candidates proficient in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.
  • Possess an outgoing personality with strong communication skills, as the role involves frequent customer interactions.
  • Willing to travel outstation or overseas when required.
  • Applicants must be willing to work at PULAU INDAH, Port Klang, Selangor.
