Sri KDU International Klang is seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher (SEN) to inspire the next generation of leaders.

Job Overview

Role to design and deliver support for students with special educational needs within an inclusive classroom setting, ensuring high quality teaching and learning, safeguarding, and continuous professional development.

1. Roles and responsibilities
  • Manage the classroom to support students.
  • Create a positive learning environment.
2. Planning and Preparation
  • Write IEPs and learning objectives.
  • Collaborate with TAs on support strategies.
  • Provide cover work when absent.
3. Instruction and Assessment
  • Teach using adaptive methods.
  • Use a variety of approaches in instruction.
  • Monitor progress and adjust as needed.
4. Behaviour and Emotional Support
  • Provide behaviour and emotional support to students.
5. Collaboration and Communication
  • Communicate regularly with the Lead Teacher.
  • Update parents on progress.
  • Maintain professional relationships.
6. Parental Engagement
  • Update parents on progress.
  • Document communication.
7. Team Communication and Documentation
  • Update TEAM channels with lesson plans and progress.
  • Upload evidence and photos.
  • Maintain classroom displayed in collaboration with the teaching assistant, to ensure they are learning focussed and celebrate children’s progress.
8. Safeguarding and Welfare
  • Report safeguarding concerns.
  • Follow safeguarding protocols.
9. Professional Development
  • Attend SEN training sessions.
  • Develop skills in adaptive teaching.
  • Share new practices with colleagues.
10. Health and Safety
  • Assist with safe movement.
  • Check accessibility needs.
  • Follow safety protocols.
11. Documentation
  • Keep daily progress notes.
  • Record observations.
  • Maintain logs of interventions.
12. Additional Responsibilities
  • Promote inclusion and positive outcomes for all students.
  • Reflect regularly on the effectiveness of support strategies.
  • Schedule collaborative planning sessions.
  • Reflect on planning effectiveness.
  • Keep accurate records of student progress.
  • Discuss teaching adaptations during team meetings.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (Masters preferred).
  • Proven experience in planning and delivering engaging lessons and activities for children aged 6-12 years.
  • In‑depth knowledge of child development theories, pedagogical approaches, and assessment strategies within the early years’ context.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with children, parents/guardians, and colleagues.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated with current trends and research in early years education.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to a positive working environment.
