A leading multinational manufacturing company in Malaysia is seeking a Supply Chain Manager specializing in Warehouse and Logistics Management. The candidate will lead a team to optimize warehouse efficiency, manage logistics operations, and ensure compliance with regulations. A Bachelor’s degree and 8-10 years in a similar role are required. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills and have experience with logistics and supply chain principles, including ERP and WMS.
The Supply Chain Manager (Warehouse & Logistics Management) leads a team to:
Ensure Warehouse Operations coordination runs at maximum efficiency by organizing inventory management, monitoring proper stock levels, and implementing effective storage solutions. Establish protocols and best practices to optimize warehouse efficiency and utilize up-to-date technology solutions like Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to streamline operations.
Develop warehouse operations systems by determining appropriate product stock distributions, product handling and storage requirements, equipment utilization, inventory, gate processes, and shipping methods.
Oversee daily warehouse operations to ensure efficiency and the highest accuracy in inventory management, proper stock management, order fulfillment, shipping/receiving processes, inventory control, space management, floor productivity, and shipping to meet production and customer requirements.
Collaborate with other Management Teams to align warehouse operations with overall business goals and objectives.
Develop and manage the warehouse budget, ensuring cost-effective operations and adherence to financial targets. Prepare regular reports on warehouse performance, costing, and expenses.
Audit and report inventory while making recommendations on which items to order and restock.
Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain a high level of productivity and safety.
Lead and mentor the warehouse team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals.
Ensure Logistics Operations Coordination: Plan and coordinate transportation and delivery schedules, ensuring timely distribution while managing any dangerous goods.
Develop and implement logistics strategies and plans to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations. Optimize transportation routes and methods to reduce costs and improve delivery times.
Oversee and manage logistics and transporting products to customers and company facilities activities, including communicating with drivers, coordinating external carriers, and managing shipping schedules to ensure efficient delivery of products.
Manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, and transportation providers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products. Negotiate contracts and agreements with logistics providers to secure favorable terms and conditions.
Handle Customs documentation and processes (or any other relevant bodies’ requirements), ensuring smooth and compliant clearance of products.
Collaborating and connecting with Management Teams (e.g. Export, Purchasing, Productions, and other Internal Stakeholders, etc.) together to settle any pending problem in due time to achieve high customer satisfaction.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including safety and environmental requirements.
Lead and mentor the logistics team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals.
Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, Business Administration, or any related field is preferred.
A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in Warehouse Management and Logistics leadership roles, preferably in a Multinational Manufacturing Organization.
Proven experience as a Warehouse and Logistics Manager or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of logistics and supply chain principles (e.g., ERP, 3PL, Warehouse Management System (WMS), Inventory Management System (IMS), etc.).
Strong leadership, analytical skills, time-management, problem-solving & decision-making abilities, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to navigate cross-functional collaborations, industry knowledge, and technical expertise.
In-depth understanding and comprehensive knowledge of standard operating procedures and relevant legal and compliance standards.
Proven track record of developing and implementing successful Organisational/ Operational Excellence, Improvement Strategies & Initiatives across a large, diverse organization.
Ability to analyze complex situations and make effective decisions, as well as the ability to think creatively and strategically in a fast-paced environment.
