Job description

The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for leading and managing end-to-end supply chain operations within a manufacturing environment, including procurement, production planning, inventory control, warehousing, and logistics. This role ensures uninterrupted material flow, accurate planning, optimal inventory levels, and timely delivery of finished goods while maintaining cost efficiency and operational excellence.

The Supply Chain Manager works closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and external suppliers to align supply chain strategies with business objectives and manufacturing requirements.

Core Responsibilities
  • Supply Chain Planning & Strategy
    • Develop, implement, and manage supply chain strategies aligned with production plans and business objectives.
    • Lead Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) activities, including demand forecasting, capacity planning, and supply balancing.
    • Identify and proactively manage supply risks, including material shortages, capacity constraints, and supplier issues.
    • Establish KPIs and monitor supply chain performance, taking corrective actions as required.
  • Procurement & Supplier Management
    • Oversee sourcing and procurement of raw materials, components, and services for manufacturing operations.
    • Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost competitiveness, and on-time delivery.
    • Lead supplier negotiations on pricing, contracts, lead times, and terms and conditions.
    • Evaluate supplier performance and drive continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Inventory & Warehouse Management
    • Manage inventory planning and control to achieve optimal stock levels while minimizing obsolescence and excess inventory.
    • Implement and enforce inventory control practices such as safety stock management, cycle counting, FIFO, and stock accuracy audits.
    • Oversee warehouse operations, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
    • Improve warehouse layout, storage methods, and material handling efficiency.
  • Logistics & Distribution Management
    • Manage inbound and outbound logistics operations, including freight forwarding, customs clearance, and transportation planning.
    • Optimize logistics costs, routes, and delivery schedules while ensuring on-time delivery performance.
    • Coordinate with logistics service providers and monitor service level agreements (SLAs).
    • Ensure compliance with trade regulations, customs requirements, and company policies.
  • Production Planning & Manufacturing Support
    • Lead coordination with Production and Planning teams to ensure material availability in line with manufacturing schedules.
    • Review demand forecasts and align procurement and production plans to meet customer requirements.
    • Monitor production progress and resolve material-related issues to avoid line stoppages.
    • Support new product introduction (NPI), engineering changes, and production ramp-ups.
  • Cost Control, Compliance & Continuous Improvement
    • Control and optimize total supply chain costs, including material, logistics, and inventory carrying costs.
    • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing, Kaizen, or other improvement methodologies.
    • Establish and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for supply chain processes.
    • Ensure compliance with ISO standards, internal audits, and regulatory requirements.
  • Team Leadership & Management
    • Lead, coach, and develop the supply chain team to achieve operational and performance targets.
    • Assign responsibilities, monitor workload, and conduct performance evaluations.
    • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in supply chain management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement, production planning, inventory control, and logistics operations.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and advanced Excel or data analysis tools.
  • Proven leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
