Job summary

A leading chemical company in Selangor, Malaysia, is seeking a Supply Chain Management professional responsible for managing the purchasing process and sourcing service providers. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain or related field, with at least 1 year of experience preferred. Strong analytical skills, proficiency in MS Office, and Mandarin speaking ability are advantageous. A modern work environment with opportunities for growth is offered.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of working experience in shipping/purchasing is an advantage.
• Fresh graduates will be considered for entry level.
• Good understanding of shipping documents and terms is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the purchasing process, including creating purchase orders.
• Source, select, and negotiate with service providers for optimal pricing.
• Build relationships with suppliers and coordinate with various departments.
• Ensure smooth import/export shipment arrangements.
• Drive cost-saving strategies and maintain records in SAP.
• Submit progress reports to management.

Job description

Responsibilities

Full spectrum of the purchasing process including creates purchase order, liaise, monitor, follow up and expedite delivery with supplier.

Primarily responsible to sourcing, selection and negotiating with shipping line/forwarder/hauliers/service provider to strive constantly for the best price whilst maintaining the highest level of quality, reliability and service in accordance to purchasing policies and procedures.

Build and develop relationships with suppliers.

Work closely with other departments including Sales/Marketing, Sales Support, Finance department etc.

Responsible for smooth import/export shipment arrangement.

Responsible to drive cost saving strategies.

Maintain good recording in SAP system for any planning transactions.

Submitting progress report to Management.

Any other duties assigned from time to time by the Superior & Management.

Requirements

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain / Logistics / International Shipping or any related field.
• At least 1 year of working experience in the shipping / purchasing is an added advantage.
• Fresh graduates may apply and are to be considered for entry level.
• Good understanding and knowledge on shipping documents, shipping terms & marine insurance is highly preferred.
• Required skill(s): MS Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint).
• Candidate able to speak in mandarin would be added advantage as the role requires candidate to deal with mandarin speaking customers / service providers.
• Detail-oriented, analytical and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment is required.
