Your Role
Assist the Recreation Manager in planning, organizing, and implementing recreational programs, managing staff, overseeing budgets, and ensuring the safety of participants and facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Management: Plan, develop, and implement a variety of recreation programs, including sports, fitness, cultural activities, and special events.
- Staff Supervision: Recruit, onboard, prepare work schedules, train recreation staff, and oversee daily performance to ensure high service standard.
- Budget & Financial Management: Prepare and manage program budgets, track expenditures, optimise resource usage, and prepare financial reports as required.
- Facility & Equipment Management: Oversee day‑to‑day operations of recreation facilities to ensure cleanliness, functionality, and safety; coordinate with maintenance teams on repair needs, manage equipment inventory and supplies; promote programs and events through social media, respond to public inquiries, and address complaints professionally.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all programs, facilities, and activities adhere to safety standard, company policies, and comply with relevant law.
Requirements
Education
- Diploma in Health Science, Sports & Recreation or a related field.
Experience
- Program development: Plan, organize, and evaluate recreation programs to meet community needs.
- Budget management: Prepare and manage budgets for recreation programs and facilities.
- Facility and equipment management: Oversee the maintenance and safety of recreational facilities and equipment.
- Staff management: Recruit, train, and evaluate subordinate staff.
- Event planning: Coordinate and execute events and group activities.
- Organization: Manage schedules, resources, and multiple tasks efficiently.
- Record‑keeping: Maintain accurate records and prepare reports.
Skills
- Certified in Basic First Aid & CPR would be an advantage.
- Leadership: Motivate staff, direct activities, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with staff, participants, and stakeholders both verbally and in writing.
- Interpersonal skills: Build positive relationships with diverse groups of people.
- Problem‑solving: Make decisive judgments and handle conflicts effectively.
- Customer service: Provide a positive experience for participants and visitors.
- Safety and emergency response: Enforce safety rules and have certifications like CPR and First Aid.
