Job summary

A leading medical device manufacturer in Malaysia is seeking a skilled Operations Supervisor to oversee daily operations of 5-axis milling machines and lead a team of 25 machinists and technicians. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of supervisory experience in precision manufacturing. Responsibilities include ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards, troubleshooting technical issues, and effective resource allocation. Job description

Oversee daily operations of 32 unit of 5-axis milling machines, ensuring optimal utilization and uptime.

Supervise, mentor, and coordinate a team of 25 machinists and technicians

Maintain adherence to production schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols

Collaborate with engineering, planning, and maintenance teams to resolve technical issues

Manage workflow, prioritize jobs, and allocate resources effectively

Ensure accurate documentation of production logs, maintenance records, and inspections

Understanding cycle times, tool wear, material behavior, and optimizing setups to meet output targets.

Key Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in precision manufacturing (medical devices preferred).
  • Familiarity with laser marking equipment and packaging automation.
  • Computer Literacy: MS Office, laser marking software and production tracking systems.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot machine and process issues quickly.
  • Planning & Scheduling: Efficient shift planning and resource allocation.
  • Cross-Department Coordination: Work with QC, maintenance, and planning teams.
