The individual will provide a high professional standard of leadership, focusing on business development, managing the Marketing and Admission team of Wesley Methodist School Penang (International) and the school’s daily operations.
The manager will need to set up, develop a fresh and exciting admission experience for all new students both local and international students; leading direct and/ or digital marketing campaigns to meet student recruitment targets. The manager will work collaboratively to develop strong links, communication channels, and robust processes within the school and with relevant key personnel and external stakeholders as required.
The manager will also need to understand the philosophy, specific positioning, ethos & culture of Wesley Methodist School Penang (International).
Represents theschools at education fairs, roadshows, workshops, and other sales and marketing related activities.
Manage student recruitment and marketing initiatives, including but not limited to working with feeder schools and other relevant business acquaintances and organising internal events for the purpose of generating enquiries then conversion, targeting at local and international students.
Maintains, updates, and keeps abreast of own professional knowledge / education industry wide matters.
Church visitations - both Methodist and other denomination churches, as well as para-church organisations in specific locations of the schools, promoting the faith-based school by speaking about the distinctiveness of quality private education.
Developing monthly newsletter for the schools.
Leading online digital campaigns for the schools to build awareness and generate enquiries.
Work with the HQ – Methodist Council of Education (MCOE) to prepare the website contents and publications.
Implementing and overseeing student recruitment policies, procedures and processes.
Analyse and report the effectiveness of student recruitment and marketing strategies on a monthly, quarterly and semester basis. Provide strategic advice and market insight to contribute to setting strategic targets and direction.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed in working closely with the principals and teachers.
Lead and champion a collaborative and accountable work environment that strive for excellence in customer service and effective administration.
Set performance targets, service indicators, quality standards, and priorities for the team upon the fixed target given and approved by MCOE and the local SLT (senior leadership team).
Identify developmental needs to support the continuous enhancement of customer service capabilities and administrative efficiency in consultation with the local SLT and MCOE.
At least a bachelor’s degree in business related field, ie. business management, marketing, communication, mass communication or any other business-related field.
Time management skills and the ability to manage concurrent deadlines and competing priorities, and complete projects on time and to budget.
Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently, problem solve, and deal with unforeseen problems and circumstances.
Strong management and leadership skills.
Highly developed organisational skills, with evidence of strong project management, attention to detail and meticulous planning.
Demonstrable initiative and enthusiasm, and the ability to lead and work collaboratively as part of a team.
Ability to build and sustain successful working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Creative and confident in suggesting ideas of how to improve and innovate.
Able to analyse and interpret quantitative and qualitative data to inform future recruitment and marketing activity.
Strongly results-focused, able to clearly demonstrate success via proven metrics.
Good IT skills: MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email (Outlook) and the ability to learn and use other software packages.
Proven skills in collecting and analysing market data and intelligence.
Working experience in an educational institution will be an added advantage.
