Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a Strategic Business Executive (Rights & IP) in Kuala Lumpur. This role involves coordinating with overseas publishers, managing licensing agreements, and acquiring foreign copyrights. The ideal candidate will have strong Japanese language skills, effective communication in English and Chinese, and a background in business planning. Qualifications

  • Strong Japanese language skills (JLPT N1) required.
  • At least 1 year of experience in business planning preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with overseas publishers for copyright management.
  • Coordinate production and marketing processes.
  • Acquire foreign copyrights to diversify portfolio.
  • Manage administrative duties for licensing agreements.

About the job Strategic Business Executive (Rights & IP)

Job responsibilities:

  • Responsible for liaising and coordinate with overseas publishers for books copyright buying and selling.
  • Coordinate between company and overseas publishers to ensure a smooth production and marketing process for new publications.
  • Acquire foreign copyrights for comics and novels to diversify our portfolio. Create presentation materials and communication in English and Japanese language for expansion of our contents.
  • Manage and ensure all agreements have been executed in a timely manner.
  • Manage all administrative duties related to licensing agreements, including, but not limited to, management of files, tracking payment and royalties, and facilitating additional copyright materials as necessary.

Job requirements:

  • Strong Japanese language skills (writing, speaking) is a must (JLPT N1)
  • Effective verbal and written communication in both English and Chinese
  • At least 1 experience in business planning or equivalent field will be preferred
  • Fresh grad also welcome to apply.
  • Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Marketing / Business Studies / or equivalent
  • Good communicator, proven negotiator and presenter
  • Well organized with ability to plan and deliver; high attention to detail
  • Highly motivated and results orientated individual. Flexible, capable of working in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment
