Key Responsibilities
- Inventory Management: Receive, inspect, and record incoming goods, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Conduct regular stock counts and maintain accurate inventory records. Monitor stock levels, identify low-stock items, and initiate the procurement process to replenish supplies. Utilize inventory management software or systems to track and manage inventory.
- Store Organization: Maintain a well-organized and clean store environment. Ensure that items are appropriately labelled, stored, and easily accessible. Implement proper storage techniques to maximize space utilization and prevent damage or loss of goods. Follow safety guidelines and handle hazardous materials with care, if applicable.
- Goods Issuance: Receive and review requests for goods from internal departments or customers. Prepare items for issuance, ensuring accurate quantities and appropriate documentation. Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate delivery of requested items.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate records of stock movement, receipts, issuances, and returns. Generate reports on inventory levels, stock discrepancies, and other relevant metrics as required. Provide regular updates regarding stock availability, issues, and potential concerns.
- Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections of goods to ensure quality standards are met. Identify and report any damaged or faulty items and coordinate with suppliers or vendors for replacements or refunds. Implement quality control measures to minimize errors and discrepancies.
- Compliance and Safety: Adhere to company policies, procedures, and guidelines related to storekeeping activities. Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Report any safety hazards or incidents to the Warehouse Manager.
Qualifications and Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent (additional education in logistics or warehouse management is a plus)
- Proven experience as a Storekeeper or similar role
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and inventory management
- Familiarity with inventory management software or systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physical stamina to handle manual tasks and lift heavy objects, if required
