Job summary

A logistics company in Malaysia is seeking a dedicated individual for vehicle maintenance responsibilities. The role requires knowledge in maintenance of heavy and light vehicles, as well as inventory management for spare parts. Responsibilities
  • Knowledge in maintenance heavy or light vehicles or spare parts.
  • Mechanical field knowledge.
  • Willing to work long hours with minimum supervision.
  • Work under pressure.
  • Renewal of road tax and payment of summons at JPJ counter (every month).
  • Buy & survey which suppliers best supply, in terms of price, quality and delivery. If needed, take spare parts at supplier’s place.
  • Maintain spare parts at the store in sufficient quantity for repair & maintenance of lorries.
  • Bills (letters, spare parts bills, and invoices) need to be given to the account department every week, Friday.
  • Lorry-by-lorry maintenance or spare parts must be recorded at exact amounts and reconfirmed weekly/daily with the boss, ensuring records identify which lorry uses which spare parts.
  • Maintain spare parts usage and record on checklist at the yard.
  • Stand‑by for breakdowns after working hours.
  • Responsible for more working hours (including rest days and public holidays) until the job is complete.
  • Meet with the foreman and assistant foreman every morning.
  • Spare parts ordering and purchase approvals must be obtained from the boss via WhatsApp or call.
  • Monitor store/yard attendance and overtime taken by punch card.
  • Record and monitor each spare part used in the correct place and on the correct lorry.
  • Ensure sufficient staff for everyday operation, prepared for emergency purposes.
  • Ad‑hoc tasks given by management (e.g., bank cheques).
