Job summary

A leading palm oil producer in Malaysia is seeking a qualified individual for production and process management. The candidate will ensure ISO compliance, oversee maintenance and inventory, and train team members. Requirements include a Grade 2 Steam Engineer Certificate and preferably 2 years in the palm oil mill industry. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential. This role will contribute towards continuous improvement and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• 2 years experience in palm oil mill industry is beneficial.

Job description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Process and Production Management

• Ensure compliance with ISO procedures, quality standards, and operational efficiency.
• Oversee production processes, address quality issues, and assist in steam plant and wastewater treatment operations.

2. Maintenance and Equipment Oversight

• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and policies.
• Supervise workshop staff, contractors, and ensure proper functioning of all mechanical and electrical equipment.

3. Inventory and Laboratory Operations

• Manage inventory levels, engineering stores, and ensure stock availability.
• Conduct and oversee product quality tests, equipment calibration, and maintain lab standards.

4. Environmental and Safety Compliance

• Oversee effluent treatment, environmental reporting, and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
• Maintain workplace safety and a clean working environment.

5. Team and Resource Coordination

• Mobilize manpower, supervise team activities, and ensure operational goals are met efficiently.
• Provide support in training and guiding team members.

6. Reporting and Continuous Improvement

• Monitor and report on production, maintenance, and quality performance.
• Implement improvements and ensure compliance with management systems like ISO 9001 and MSPO SCCS.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum Grade 2 Steam Engineer Certificate Holder
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, MSPO SCCS, and safety standards (training will be provided if needed).
• 2 years experience in palm oil mill industry is beneficial.
