A healthcare facility in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a State Registered Nurse to provide essential patient care in the Emergency Department. Responsibilities include performing triage assessments, documenting patient care, and adhering to safety protocols. Candidates must have a Registered Nurse qualification and be proficient in Basic Life Support. The role demands excellent communication skills and knowledge in trauma management. Receive, greet and identify patient correctly using 2 identifiers. Place patient in bed/ couch. Provide orientation to patient/ caregiver upon admission, transfer in and conduct Initial Triage Assessment.
To identify of any patient’s allergies (food, drug, others) and inform relevant departments.
Responsible for the delivery of patient care following the assessment of patient.
Participate in Doctor’s round and chaperon doctor during patient’s examination. To give relevant information pertaining to patient’s condition, nursing observations and laboratory findings.
Carry out Doctor’s orders accurately and timely.
Reassess patient’s condition, plan and provide care of patient accordingly.
Responsible in writing patient’s report and handover detailed report to the staff in the next shift on patient’s treatment, care plan, medication and progress of the patient. To complete documentation of Nursing Care Plan before patient’s discharge.
Ensure and provide assistance to patient on their daily living activities. Ensure patient’s privacy, dignity and confidentiality is maintained at all times.
Provide assistance to Cardiac Vascular Technician as and when necessary during procedure for patient in the ward.
Ensure inpatient prescription, reconciliation form are complete before sending to pharmacy.
Responsible for the preparation of patient for procedures, diagnostic examinations, treatment and surgery. Confirm and ensure that the patient is financially cleared before intervention procedure and surgery.
Responsible for the proper ordering, collection of clinical laboratory specimens and to be able to detect abnormal results and notify the attending doctor immediately.
Perform correct and accurate recording vital signs and intake/output chart of patients.
Assist Doctor in arranging appointment for referrals to other departments or hospitals.
To check in HIS and to confirm with Ward nurse the availability of bed in ward. Transfer lodging patient to ward as soon as possible.
To carry out all nursing procedures in accordance to work instruction and basic competency skills.
Adherence to infection control guidelines and universal precautions at all time.
Ensure all nursing documentation in the patient medical record must be completed according to hospital standards.
To perform triage for patient transfer from clinic to Emergency department for observation.
