Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Ipoh is seeking a qualified individual to oversee the assembly process for their product transfer. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science, preferably in Mechatronics or Mechanical, and must possess strong analytical and CAD skills. Responsibilities include sustaining quality standards, executing engineering builds, and monitoring line processes. This role offers opportunities for career development in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience in high mix and high volume manufacturing is an advantage.
  • Experience in supervising a team of maintenance personnel is a plus.

Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for overall Assembly process on Coherent Roadm product transfer to Ipoh.
  • To sustain & improve on the process and quality standard, procedures and control plan.
  • To plan and execute the various engineering builds, DOE, activities and data collection.
  • Monitoring line processes, improving quality and updating process instructions and documentation.
  • Support in assembly manufacturing documentation like Process specifications, visual aids, manufacturing routes and work instructions.
  • To provide the necessary engineering support and coordination of pilot build to ensure that new assemblies are completed on time and with minimum resources.
  • Identify and quantify quality problems with materials and/or processes and provide solutions.
  • Responsible for process and product yields of the mechanical assembly and test process.
  • Always ensure the process implemented delivers the good and right quality services/product to the customers.
  • Drive technical project tasks to completion in accordance with the project schedule.
  • Performs any other duties as directed by the immediate supervisor from time to time.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering / Science preferably majoring in Mechatronics or Mechanical.
  • Understand the mechanical drawing and GD&T.
  • Knowledge in mechanical CAD software, i.e. Solidworks, e-drawing.
  • Good computer literacy and basic SPC knowledge.
  • Must exhibit a strong sense of analytical skills with hands on working attitude.
  • Adaptable and flexible to rapid changes to the business needs of the company.
  • Experience working in high mix and high volume manufacturing environment, and/or assembly, SMT, PCBA manufacturing environment will be an added advantage.
  • Good knowledge of mechanical dimensioning & tolerancing analysis, poka-yoke principles will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in supervising a team of maintenance personnel will be an added advantage.
