Qualifications

Job description
Staff Nurse/Senior Staff Nurse (Maternity Ward)
  1. To provide care and support for women before, during and after delivery of the baby.
  2. To be responsible for making sure that the medical as well as the emotional needs of the client and family are adequately met.
  3. To be responsible for the smooth running of the unit.
  4. To ensure the implementation of safe nursing care via ongoing supervision and involvement in administrative duties.
  5. To ensure and have a good working knowledge of all statutory requirements of the Nursing Board of Malaysia and any other legislation related to her/his work.
  6. To ensure compliance with established departmental/unit policies and procedures, continuous quality improvement objectives, environmental safety and infection control standards in line with the Organization’s Vision, Mission and Core Values.
  7. To ensure the provision and maintenance of a risk‑free working environment in terms of infections and accidents for both patients and others.
  8. To work directly under Obstetrician, assisting them during examination, diagnostic testing, treatment and procedure for examples perform vaginal examination, Cardiotocograph monitoring, perform an abdominal palpation, assisting doctors during delivery, assisting in suturing of episiotomy wound and examining of placenta.
  9. To carry out other duties as assigned from time to time by Nursing Supervisor / HODs.
